Building P4468 renovation
Rare images show one of the Japanese Officers Quarters getting a new roof and renovation which took place in 2005.
In 2005, Mr. Tim Mitchell (former Food and Beverage Director at Dragon Hill Lodge) and his family decided to have their home renovated. As soon as the ceiling was demolished to update the services they were amazed finding these large logs still in perfect conditions supporting the roof of their house.
The building P4468 is one of many houses built for Japanese officer’s families early 1900’s by the Japanese Army. All Japanese-era buildings used bricks for walls and timber for roof structure. The bricks were made in the brick factory located inside the Japanese Army base in Yongsan.
